LLL of South Carolina proudly presents our 2017 Health Care Provider Seminar featuring Nancy Mohrbacher, IBCLC, FILCA. Continuing Education Units will be available on a range of topics including The First 36 Hours, Understanding Breastfeeding Behaviors, Nipple Pain and Trauma, and Low Milk Production. Lectures will be technical in nature and are geared toward Health Care Professionals. All those interested in lactation education and support are welcome to attend.

The conference includes session topics of interest to families and others in the breastfeeding community. With sessions on breastfeeding, parenting, nutrition, communications, and childbirth, we offer a variety of topics and speakers. From birth to the teen yearsand beyond, there is something for every phase of parenting life. Nancy Mohrbacher, IBCLC, FILCA, will be our spotlight speaker and we hope you join us for an exciting day.

The conference will be held at the Saluda Shoals River Center, Columbia, SC. A block of rooms has been made available at a discounted rate for our attendees at the Hyatt Place Columbia/Harbison location.

Conference Featured speaker
La Leche League of South Carolina is excited to welcome featured speaker, Nancy Mohrbacher, LLL Leader, IBCLC, FILCA. Nancy fell in love with breastfeeding while nursing her three sons, Carl, Peter, and Ben, who are now grown. In 1982, before the lactation profession existed, she began working as a volunteer mother-support counselor and found her passion: helping women meet their breastfeeding goals.
Board-certified as a lactation consultant in 1991, from 1993 to 2003 she started and grew a large private lactation practice in the Chicago area, where she saw thousands of families. To accomplish her mission, Nancy develops innovative breastfeeding education and tools. Her textbooks for breastfeeding specialists, Breastfeeding Answers Made Simple (BAMS) and the BAMS Pocket Guide Edition, are used worldwide. Her books for parents include Breastfeeding Made Simple: Seven Natural Laws for Nursing Mothers, which she co-authored with Kathleen Kendall-Tackett, Working and Breastfeeding Made Simple, and her tiny troubleshooting guide Breastfeeding Solutions: Quick Tips for the Most Common Nursing Challenges.
In 2008 the International Lactation Consultant Association officially recognized Nancy’s contributions to the field of breastfeeding by awarding her the designation FILCA, Fellow of the International Lactation Consultant Association. Nancy was one of the first group of 16 to be recognized for their lifetime achievements in breastfeeding.
We welcome Nancy to South Carolina and look forward to her sharing her wealth of breastfeeding information. All of Nancy’s publications will be made available for purchase through the registration page.
