Commercial Metals Company's South Carolina mill began operations in 1961 as Owen Electric of South Carolina. With the acquisition by CMC in 1994 came capital investment and technology upgrades to improve the mill's ability to serve our customers.
Today, CMC Steel South Carolina is a world-class, state-of-the-art, bar products minimill with the manufacturing flexibility to serve numerous markets. Their products are primarily used in the construction, infrastructure, service center, energy, agriculture, and OEM end use markets.

Guidelines for the CMC Tour:
Tour routes include climbing and descending of stairs and elevated walkways.
Persons with physical or medical restrictions are advised to notify their tour guide of such issues and possibly make alternative arrangements.
Photographs are not allowed. Cameras, including video or digital recorders and cell phones are strictly prohibited. Voice recorders (tape and digital) are also prohibited.
Closed toe shoes and long pants are required. Sandals, open-toed shoes, high heels, etc. are not acceptable footwear.
