About Us

Babcock Center strives to help people with disabilities become more productive and independent, and improves their quality of life. The agency primarily serves residents of South Carolina Richland and Lexington counties. In addition, asked to address critical needs outside of this central service area. Babcock Center encourages full participation in community life by: Helping individuals, their families and others who care about them work in partnership to develop personal interests and abilities; Establishing a reasonable balance between safety and the risks associated with new opportunities; Helping individuals make use of appropriate public services which are available to all members of our community; Helping individuals overcome barriers to community participation such as the need to acquire employment and earn a reasonable level of income, the need for decent and affordable housing, and the need for safe, dependable transportation; and Identifying strengths and weaknesses in our efforts, and problem solving to improve service quality effectiveness and flexibility.
